Best Time to Visit Malaysia: Weather by Region & Seasonal Tips
The best time of year to visit Malaysia is completely dependent on the region you are going to visit. The capital Kuala Lumpur and the West Coast areas of Malaysia such as Langkawi and Penang is hot and humid, regardless of when you might visit. However, it does rain, but usually it is a short, quick rain which allows plenty of time to take in the sights or enjoy the beach.
Nonetheless, the west coast does tend to see the rain the heaviest in September and October, which would make it a less than ideal place to take a holiday during that time. If you find yourself on holiday in Malaysia at that time, you may want to consider heading to Malaysia’s eastern coast.
The eastern coast sees the driest weather from March to October so this is definitely the time to go diving in Tioman, relaxing on the white sandy beaches of the Perhentian Islands or checking out the amazing mosques in Kuala Terengganu.
